This museum is a natural for young kids - they are sure to find something they've heard about or know about. Plants, animals, minerals, you name it. Too bad they don't still have the scavenger hunt maps from "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian." Yes the movie came out several years ago, but our 7 year-old is interested... More

We went to see the dinosaurs which we were less than expected. But the other exhibit of animal and human skeletons was very interesting. We checked out the butterflies which is a separate cost but our daughter was in heaven. It is extra warm in there just a heads up. The cafe food was good but our meal quickly added... More

Comparing with the Field Museum in Chicago, I feel the museum of Natural History was disappointing. I prefer displays in habitat, not stand alone. I hadn't realized museum differences

The kids got bored easily here but my husband and I enjoyed most of the exhibits. Seeing the hope diamond was pretty cool.

We went to the museum on a Sunday. Our family already had in mind which areas were must see, and which were "if we have time/ if not too crowded". We enjoyed an IMAX movie, the first showing of the day, which was only $5 per person. The exhibits were fantastic- something for everyone! The ground level has a good... More

This place has it all from diamonds, to mineral displays, to fossils to mummies. The Hope diamond was there, however the exhibit was closed when I got there. I was able to see necklaces from Marie Antoinnette and a necklace the Napoleon gave to his wife. Very fascinating to see the large stones that were carved by jewelers hundreds of... More

The kids and I loved this museum. So much more content than we are accustomed to. Very interesting exhibits, great IMAX (dinosaurs). If you go to the IMAX sit in the back! The middle of the theatre felt way too close to the screen.

An all time favorite for adults and kids of all ages! My favorite is the diamond exhibit. It's very close to the the National Mall and many of the other Smithsonians.

We ate supper here, because we didn't have a good plan for supper. It was $42.00 for the three of us to eat. And my son is six.
