Beautiful beautiful memorial, on the Tidal Basin, the small "lake" close to the Washington Monument. A path along the basin and a road bring to the memorial. The view on the Mall is amazing and during the Cherry Blossom Festival (end of March / beginning of April - see the dates on the website; every year the period changes) the... More

Went for the Cherry Blossom Festival and stayed for the Jefferson Memorial. I recommend going around sundown, you get beautiful views of the cherry blossoms, and Tidal Basin, as well as thinner crowds, plus you won't have the beaming sun on you. Jefferson Memorial is small, feels like a smaller version of the Lincoln Memorial, stay for a few hours... More

The memorial is wonderful, a gorgeous tribute to Thomas Jefferson. His quotes are both theological, and liberal, which is usually what he is remembered for. The only reason I didn't give 5-star is because the roof needs to be cleaned; there is some staining.

This was my favorite of the monuments. It's so beautiful and peaceful sitting on the tidal basin. The cherry blossoms take it to a whole different level.

Wow, when the cherry blossoms come out, so do the people. In throngs! The tidal basin is mobbed; one can only walk slowly around the edge. Long line for paddle boats. And then the monument. Big. Awe inspiring. Cool. Sort of quiet. Definitely shady and breezy on a warm day. People seem a bit respectful, a bit thoughtful, reading Jefferson's... More

One of my absolute favorite memorials at the National Mall. Beautiful view around the memorial and the structure itself is so aesthetically pleasing and informative. Very much worth the visit

Another of the must see places when visiting Washington. The inscriptions on the wall are interesting to read and bring one's high school history lessons to life.

This place is iconic, but less visited than the Lincoln Memorial. Take a picnic lunch and eat out by the Tidal Basin. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to see some cherry blossoms!

Came to the memorial at nighttime and it is gorgeous. It is very quiet and well lit so it gives you an intimate view of President Jefferson. In the downstairs, there is a mini museum of President Jefferson which describes his life, inventions, and rise to power. There I found out that his statue is bronze because that was the... More
