We wanted to rent bikes but decided to walk at the last moment, and had a fantastic experience. It was a slightly hot day but the trail has shades and we never felt hot. We started from Bethesda and walked to Georgetown. It took us...More

A hidden gem in DC! This paved path is great for running/walking and cycling, and it has mile markers every half mile. Flush toilets at Fletcher Cove, where the free parking lots are. Running parallel for a bit is the C&O towpath for those who...More

Lovely and well kept trail that runs from Bethesda to Georgetown. No big hills to climb in either direction. I love when it reaches the Potomac and then you can bike along the river!

This trail is a much used and much needed pedestrian conduit between Silver Spring / Bethesda to Georgetown. I used it for running and biking. If I lived there for longer, I would likely have used it for commuting. Save the Trail!
