10 degree drops on many switchbacks that are posted at 5 mph. Not many places to stop to view the area. Just used 2nd and 1st gears for over 1 mile +. Any description of the road does not tell you about the gravel surface...More

Took our truck through here on the way to and from natural bridges. It was extremely exciting and fun! Wouldn't recommend a longer rig to come through here but a shorter rv will do just fine. The roads are wide enough to pass each other,...More

My wife and I just spent 10 days visiting the parks of Utah. Our plan was to drive from Moab to Monument Valley and then on to Antelope Canyon and Zion. Had it not been for our fabulous waiter the night before, we would never...More

When reading the reviews, it sounds like a scary drive, it is quite the opposite. It is just three miles of switchbacks carved in the plateau. It is a nice drive, nice road and beautiful scenery. Make sure to do some stops and look down...More

The Muki Dugway is remarkable 3-mile stretch of Hwy 261 northwest of Mexican Hat and the Vally of the Gods that makes for a thrilling driving experience. Here you find a series of graded-dirt switchbacks carved into the face of the Cedar Mesa Plateau. The...More

This road is not as bad as it appears. Even a wimp like me was not that afraid of this road! We took the rental vehicle, an Infiniti QX70, down the road. We passed motorhomes and vans. At the bottom of the road, we curved...More

One of the most thrilling drives you'll ever do - and I would highly recommend you do it - but only if no one in your vehicle is afraid of heights or a nervous driver - because once you're on it , you can't turn...More

We had rented a crossover (Jeep) for the trip, and we were glad we did. If you are taking the road from Natural Bridges National Monument to Goosenecks State Park, you will drive on Moki Dugway. This is about 3 miles of sharp turns winding...More

As a senior citizen from Britain this was probably one of the scariest drives I have ever been on. Our research for our trip through Utah was obviously flawed as were not prepared for what faced us at the top. Given the choice of going...More

One word: Hairpins. Go to YouTube & search "Moki Dugway" for video, and make your own judgment. I wouldn't advise it...and there are also signs advising against it, too. It's also not the smoothest road in the world. I... More

I'd rather go uphill so you really get the weird impression you're driving into a tunnel, then, oh no, you're kidding, we go up that? Plus no need to worry about failing brakes.
