500 million-year-old fossils, older than the dinosaurs!
Awesome way to spend the morning! The dig is easy to find if you follow the signs. There are clean porta-john's and a covered picnic area. They sell drinks and snacks too. They explain just what you're looking for, give you a paper with pictures on it, take you to a dig spot and even help you get started. We spent 4 hours there and found too many to take with us! They will cut them down to size and even polish them up for you. Great all-around experience, we'll be back again!!

Fun adventure for any age! We are planning to go again with more family in tow!
I was close to this a few years back, and wanted to go. But, due to time constraints, we had to pass it up. So, when the chance came about recently to make it a stop from WI to eventually AZ; we decided to reroute specifically to the trilogies dig. SO WORTH IT!!! My grand-daughter and I had a blast and we wanted more! Upon sharing with family, we are starting to plan another trip, specifically, to Utah. It was informative, fun and we found many fossils. Just go and you will have a rewarding adventure. Be prepared with safety glasses and gloves prior. And, the drive to the quarry is way off the beaten track on gravel roads. The bonus was seeing a band of wild horses on our way out. Can't wait until next time.

    Terrific experience!
This was a terrific experience! My wife and I thought that it might be a neat couple of hours spent doing something different to the norm. We ended up staying for several more hours and it was fantastic. Brent went above and beyond explaining everything and we were so pleased and excited to find so many various fossils. We will do it again next time we venture to Utah. Again, our thanks go out to Brent for making our trip even better. Karen & Peter, Texas

We have been looking forward to this for a while and they did not disappoint. Staff was excellent, very knowledgeable , curious and helpful, cleaned up our fossils and even help me carry out the bucket! I would recommend to anyone who lies this kind of stuff.

This is the best time I have had in a while. They give you all the tools and directions as to what to do and off you go. Hubby and I are older (59 and 60), and it was quite easy to quickly fill 2 buckets. There was a family there with pre teens and teens and they seemed to be having a great time. I would highly recommend it.

This place is a hidden gem for anyone that’s looking to start a journey as a rockhound! Do you want to dig up fossils on your own that are 550 million years old? You’ll have no trouble finding any shortage here they are everywhere. Spent two hours digging and everything you need is covered in the cost. We paid online ahead of our arrival as its so remote we lost cellular service 20 miles before getting there. Follow the directions on their website and you’ll be good. No problem on gravel road for a two wheel vehicle. After arriving the gentleman already seen we paid ahead online and within five minutes he gave us a quick brief on what and how to search for fossils and we were on our way. Immediate found fossils and their soo abundant we we’re tossing small ones onto ground in search of the biggest ones we could find to keep. Must come here if you’re in the area!!

This place is great! If you want to find nice well preserved trilobite fossils this is the place to go. We spent the night in Delta, UT and then drove to the quarry the next morning. It was a neat drive on a loooong dirt road to get there. Once there Kyle gave an informative talk on how to ID the different species we might find, and then he got us all set up and showed us how to crack open the rocks. He was fantastic! He came back down several times while we were there to check on everybody and see if we had any questions. We did the half day reservation and just in that 4 hrs we found probably 70-80 fossils. We decided to only keep ones that were fairly large and not broken so we came home with about 30 specimens. I totally plan to come back here again and bring friends. Next time we will do the full day dig! Also, after your dig be sure to swing by The Bug House in Delta and check out all the cool stuff they have there!

if I could add a few more stars over the max I would. This place was awsome. Barely done with my check in and walking toward the main dig area found my first impression of a trilobite. Got pointed in the right direction and got great information from Robin and myself and my wife left 4 hours later with 80lbs of incredible specimens. It was a very relaxed and fun environment. Absolutely will go again the next time we are in town. Hell of a fun way to spend a day from our honeymoon!

An ABSOLUTE must see adventure in Utah. We brought home so many fossils! Cole was a GREAT host for host. Explained everything and showed us where to dig.

Here are some tips to make your trip more enjoyable:
1) Don't take Old SR 6. Keep driving on pavement until you see the U-Dig turn off sign.
2) You will be driving on dirt roads but they are perfectly same. Trust us, if you keep going straight, you won't miss the location. Just keep driving until you see it.
3) Bring lots of water and that includes bringing water to the pits with you. You car is an uphill walk from the pits.
4) Bring gloves! Good garden, work gloves.
5) Don't try to make your finds smaller with the hammer. You will destroy your find.
6) MOST IMPORTANT: If you are unearthing rock directly (not using the excavator pieces) and find something, keep pulling laterally. This means you found the "ground settling spot" and more trilobites will be on this same level.

Enjoy. We certainly did!
