Great Fishing Lake. Decent Waterskiing Lake

We spent two days here. The area is beautiful with rolling hills and pine trees. The lake is long (80 miles). There are many marinas located along the shore and a national forest so there are camping opportunities. We spent one day on the lake. Watch out for the submerged trees that were left standing when the lake was created.... More

Typical Texas lakeside town. Was really busy during the weekend. Lots of boats, bikes, campers and kiddies.

Great place for a weekend getaway or for a vacation week. Texas and Louisiana sides offer great boating and fishing opportunities. Be sure to stay in the boat lanes (lots of underwater obstructions). Great bass, sac-a-lait, catfish and striper fishing.

Toledo Bend was so fun! Loved looking out into a blue expanse. There is a sandy beach and I love going when nobody is there just to walk and enjoy the view. In the summertime (swim season) water skiers and boats, etc don't come too close to the swim area and there are guards that make sure they don't either.
