Love going to the Smokies which are close by coming into Townsend. Lots of great places to hike, tube, picnic or just relax in the woods or by a mountain stream.

There are many roads that are not advertised that are well worth taking for scenery or leaf viewing. Beautiful time of the year is mid Oct. Look at the Parson's Branch Road for an out of the way trip.

Mostly easy, but the surface of the trail was just slightly uneven so probably not suitable for the elderly of those who are really young. It was very nice to be in a natural setting away from the distractions of... More

Nice National Forest - worth the drive to Bald River Falls - take your bathing suit because it would be beautiful to swim there if it's warm.

There's bass fishing, trout fishing, water skiing, swimming, backpacking, tent camping, RV camping, whitewater canoeing & rafting, several short to long hikes for all skill levels, majestic views--al in a family atmosphere. You can always find something to... More

Our friends brought us here to experience the beautiful forest. We took some great pictures of the area all the way up to and including the Ocoee and Toccoa Rivers. It was so relaxing. My husband and I have traveled through Georgia many, many times over the years but have never stopped to enjoy nature here. We will definitely be... More
