This is something everyone should see. The history of this canal is awesome! Just walking part of the trail and watching boats go through the locks is really impressive. A great engineering feat!

I have had several chances to utilize the Erie Canal system in Western New York this year. It is fun, scenic, relaxing and historic, and I do recommend this to anyone who loves water, the outdoors, and history.

I went to bike along the canal and see the locks, which are simple and fascinating at the same time. It was a nice visit.

Very pretty at night, easy to walk around and view. We dined at the lock 24 restaurant across from the actual lock. All very nice.
