We were able to see and photograph several alligators and various bird species. The flies were annoying and they bite, but nature has to have some drawbacks. We enjoyed it and would do that again. Just make sure to keep your windows rolled up.

I visited Lacassine Loop and Lacassine NWR, which should be separated into two attractions on Trip Advisor. Both were excellent, offering unobstructed views of the birds and animals of the Louisiana swamps. Highly recommended.

This place is pretty hard to find -- it spite of being open to the public it is very poorly signed and the brochures they publish require an expert codebreaker to figure out. It took us a bit, but once we did, it was completely...More
