My wife, daughter and I recently enjoyed a wonderful five-day rafting adventure on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River, passing through many rapids, spectacular canyons, and unspoiled wilderness valleys, courtesy of Middle Fork River Expeditions ("MFRE"), of Stanley, Idaho. Our guides were warm and...More

The fishing trip in September is awesome. Fewer people on the river, smaller group, and great fishing. The guides know the river and where the fish are. Strongly recommend hitting the side streams for fishing that is off the charts!

It was wonderful sharing the crown gem of the "Frank Church - River of No Return Wilderness" with life-long Sierra Club conservation activists and supporters. A really fun and special experience.

It was great to be "unplugged" for a week and just sit back and enjoy the ride. We picked this time of year based on water volume and speed. Given our age, the plan was to not ride the “rafting rodeo.” We got to choose...More

There just aren't enough superlatives to adequately describe this experience. Tremendous organization, outrageous fun and adventure, truly awesome eating, incredible people (guests and guides), exquisite scenery, and the perfect escape from our crazy world. Can't wait to do it again. Aces all the way.

What an amazing trip. We floated in the largest wilderness area in the lower 48. Lots of animal sightings (bears, sheep, beavers, otters, eagles, osprey etc). The food was excellent as were the guides who have been floating this river for decades. Sleeping under the...More

What a wonderful way to get out and immerse yourself in nature. The kids and adults we rafted with were great and the guides at MFRE could not have been nicer, more professional, and fun. We will definitely be going again.

Incredible scenery, fun activities, and incredible guides made this a memorable experience. Engage with the wilderness but do it safely and with incredible food and comfort. The guides were great.

We took this trip in August and found it difficult to fall asleep before midnight. The rock walls absorb daytime solar energy and radiates heat well into the night.
