Paved trail for walkers, runners, cyclists, bladers, and just about any other non-motorized method of transportation. Minimal hills, almost all flat. Connects to many other CT trails. Can ride a bike from New Haven to Southwick Mass, all across CT 52 miles. All (minimal) road crossings have warning lights. Lots of places to stop. Beautiful scenery, all times of the... More

always a pleasant bike ride on this section of the Greenway. They are actually extending the road bed further south to connect to other trails so you can go all the way to new Haven,CT.

A wonderful place to walk or bicycle for the whole family. There are restrooms along the way at certain points. These can be found on their map online.

This last weekend some friends put together a century ride and we appreciated the water fountains (one five miles north of the MA border and one in a playground near the outdoor concert arena), porta johns, and lots of shade. There are also plenty of small delis and... More

The trail is so long, we started at the Suffield-Southwick section of this rail trail! The wide bikeway is so nice, it passes near the Congamond Lakes, on the Massachusetts side, the trail on this side is six and half miles long, one-way. When fully completed, the trail will go all the way to Northhampton/Amherst, Ma. and perhaps to Vermont... More

I have biked this section many times over my years and will never tire of it. Even on an oppressively hot and humid day most of the path is blanketed by shade, winding over or near the beautiful Farmington River for a view or a refreshing break. Whether walking or cycling, the trip is safe, fairly flat and scenic, with... More
