Nice but dusty

Pretty nice Campground. Restrooms are kept clean. Biggest complaint is the 5MPH speed limit on the dusty dirt roads is mostly violated by about 5 fold. Be prepared for all... read more

I did not plan too far ahead and had a nice site but not on the lake. I stayed in three government campgrounds on this trip. This one had no flush toilets but it did have power in the bathrooms. They were all very clean. Nice hosts. Firewood available to purchase and a day use area where I could go... More

Pretty nice Campground. Restrooms are kept clean. Biggest complaint is the 5MPH speed limit on the dusty dirt roads is mostly violated by about 5 fold. Be prepared for all your gear/vehicle/camper etc to have a nice coating after one day, let alone the 2 weeks we stayed. I also think the 8 person per site, 16 person double site... More

Beautiful lake and campground. We had a premier site just 50 ft from lake. Campground is very forested so lots of shade. Hosts are wonderful. They keep grounds and bathrooms cleaned daily. Water spigots, vault bathrooms, trash dumpsters throughout campground. Most of the sites have leveled and designated tent pads...I say most because there are some RV-only sites. Some sites... More

We camped here in a 5th wheel and were delightfully surprised at the campground. Hosts were very helpful, restrooms were kept spotlessly clean as were the sites. Some sites are a bit small - especially the pull thru's that a just a little pull off on the side of the road. Made putting the slides out a bit daunting. I... More

This lake is beautiful and we always have so much fun fishing and camping here. Camp areas are kept clean as well as bathrooms which are clean and stocked daily.

This campground is close to Durango and offers a tranquil setting to get away from it all. Phone connections are spotty (better at the lake than at the campsites) so it is a good place to disconnect. Vault toilets, no showers. Electrical hookups available for RVs. Many people were enjoying fishing or getting out on the water in their various... More

My husband and I visited the Durango area for a wedding and stayed at this campground for 3 nights. The area itself is very pretty but I was not real impressed with the campground. The spots are packed in and there is not alot of privacy. The trash receptacles are not close, in fact, there is only one area for... More

Great National Forest Campground! Lots of nice sites, some near the lake, Many of the sites are large and nicely spaced and separated. Fishing was good and the campground hosts were terrific. All the facilities were clean and well kept. Some sites can be reserved and some have electricity. We dry camped here for 10 days in a 38 foot... More

We came to Haviland for a picnic with the kids and were not disappointed. This campground and park is near the San Juan National Forest, 18 miles north of Durango. Parking was $5 (limited spaces) and we loved the fact that this was a no-wake lake. The kids paddled on boards, kayaked, explored, and fished - with a rents confident... More
