I loved the trip from San Diego to Santa Ana. The ease in buying the tickets on-line was great! I couldn't give it 5 stars though, due to a delay in my San Juan Capistrano train back to San Diego due to a stalled train in Irvine. All in all a great experience!

The train is double decker and runs along the sea coast. I always prefer top deck and towards the sea face. Must see once. Travelled from san diego to LA.

Just horrible trip from Orange County to Chatsworth. Turns out booking an unreserved seat doesn't mean the seat is not assigned it means you may not actually get a seat at all. As was the case with me the train was overbooked and for more than half the trip we had to stand. I contacted their customer service and response... More

We took this from Solanda Beach (Encinitas/La Jolla area) to Los Angeles. The views were so cool, Business Class was nice and clean and included a large snack pack, wifi, free drinks, breakfast pastries and coffee.

I recently travelled twice in business class on the Pacific Surfliner and both times it was a delightful experience. The complimentary beverages and snacks were much appreciated but the big selling points are bypassing LA traffic and the incredible scenery, particularly between Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo, where it's nearly nonstop ocean views. A delightful way, stress-free way to... More

I have gotten this train twice before and it provides a great service. I got it going south to San Diego and it was very busy. There were not enough seats for passengers but i think this was a once off because it was the start of the 4th July weekend. The other time i got it i got a... More

We took the Surfliner north to see the scenery and miss LA traffic. It was a wonderful way to travel. We met intersting people, were very comfortable in business class and really enjoyed Union Station in LA. We will be travelling on Amtrak again in the future

This was our first time. We took a day trip up to Simi from Solana Beach. The train was late and their clock was behind five minutes as well. The boarding process was a "get on as fast as you can" to get a seat by the coast side window, which we didn't get. It was quiet enough to be... More

This was my family's first Amtrak trip and it was a fantastic experience. We started in San Diego and ended in San Luis Obispo. The staff (both at the SD station and those working the train) went out of their way for us including reserving our seats (a nice surprise) and regularly checking in with us to ensure our trip...
