This is an easy hike through a grove of Giant Sequoias in the National Forest. We took our grandkids ages 10-16 and they loved it. Once you leave the paved road, the dirt road in is a bit hazardous and I would advise not taking...More

Be warned: this drive is not for the faint of heart. My husband and I drove up to Nelder Grove this afternoon, and the drive was both cumbersome and exhausting. We were in a Crossover SUV and there were some bumps/muddy pits/steep inclines we were...More

This review is not on the two options of Sequoias (Shadow of Giants or "Other" set of trails). It's to share my snafu in not seeing the sign for the "Other" set of trails (Big Ed Tree, Chimney ... etc.). So learn from my mistake,...More

Very shortly before the parking area and trailhead, the dirt road takes a sharp left with impassable ruts and mud (SUV 4WD). There was adequate room to park along the dirt road. One picnic bench, one Sequoia and a babbling brook is there to greet...More

A great short hike to see many beautiful big trees! My three year old was able to hike on his own, which was his first time. One mile loop. All shaded. Hidden gem!

Well I don't recall seeing a dog, but it is a woodland walk on natural paths without any entrance restrictions to the area from the car park, so I wouldn't imagine any issue , especially if the dog is kept on a leash.
