Magnificent stretch of road. Gloriously gigantic trees and lush, beautiful forests. I think I saw that people had given this wonderful piece of earth a low rating. They must have had a seizure and it was an accident. This whole area of California is wonderful and having seen most of the state, is the definitely highlight. Definitely recommend the detour... Worth the detour! Beautiful trees and a nice stream that you can swim in or have a picnic next to. More places to stop by than you have time for.

What an awesome sight, driving along the old 101 road through these magnificent Giants. Until you see these trees and stand next to them , you cannot begin to imagine their size. Fantastic photo opportunities along the 30 mile long road. Don't miss this opportunity to take in these breathtaking Redwoods.

I was trying to get to Redwood National Park from San Francisco over Memorial Day weekend. The drive is just too far in that short amount of time. Luckily I had heard about Avenue of the Giants and saw the signs. We detoured and boy am I glad we did! I cannot believe the trees we saw during this drive.... More

We are so glad that we took the time to take this beautiful drive. Getting to see these giant old trees up close and personal was amazing. It was well worth the time. Going at the end of May there was virtually no traffic. There are a few services along the way but not many so plan ahead. Stop along... More

A super great place to visit and walk among the giant trees. I loved the view and the huge big old trees. Do get you cameras as the scenery is unforgettable.

Yes this will take you a couple of hours to drive. Especially if you do it at 30 miles-an-hour which is what you should do. There turn-outs along the way so take your time. Really! Stop. Breathe in the air. Be at peace. Experience something greater than yourself. And..................................it's free.

So worth taking the long route , what a gorgeous set of trees and many little stops to see them up close. Definitely take the Founder's trail if you're with kids.

This has to be one of the most special places I have ever seen! Took my family on this scenic drive while visiting California. These trees are so massive! You feel so small standing among the great Giants! This is definitely an experience you don't wanna miss!!

If you want to feel small. This is the best place for it. Insignificant small. ... so much beautifullness. Wildflowers and the Giants of trees. Absolutely awe inspiring nature.
