Avenue of the Giants is a 41 mille 2 lane road thru Humboldt Redwoods state park, The road parallels US 101 but is slower going depending on the number of stops you make. A MUST DO IF YOU WANT TO SEE REDWOODS. The trees are not as large as Muir Woods but are very impressive. A thoroughly enjoyable drive.

This is one of my all-time favorite drives! Whether just passing through or coming to explore the Humboldt Redwoods State Park, get off of Highway 101 and take the Avenue of the Giants to immerse yourself in 31 miles of huge trees!

Truly a mind blowing nature experience. I felt as if I could walk for hours staring at these giants. The fact that it was a lot less crowded than most national park highlights I have visited was a pleasant surprise as a walk in the Forrest is always better in peace.

What an awe inspiring trip thru a winding trail of roads that showcased some of the largest trees in the California redwoods. We couldn't keep from stopping every half mile taking some extreme photos of these majestic beauties. I would definitely recommend detouring off 101 to see these magnificent trees.

For anyone who has never seen a giant redwood up close, you are missing out on one of life's awe inspiring moments. To see an entire forest of these is almost overwhelming. In a good way. These ancient giants are so beautiful and the energy is so peaceful that I didn't want to ever leave. Give yourself plenty of time... More

Wow wow wow!!! We were driving northbound so we had to do the Chandelier Tree drive through first. We have a Lexus SUV and it made it through when we turned in the rear view mirrors. It's $5 to drive through the area but it's worth it. They have a couple of wood carved animal sculptures as you drive up... More

What a great drive! Unbelievable huge trees and the Lost Coast! Terrible road. The fastest you can go is 15 to 20 mph. It's awful. But worth the drive!

All your life you see the pictures, you read about the place, it's even in your classic cartoons but to actually walk through a grove of Giant Redwoods is absolutely inspiring. The sheer size can't be estimat s until you stand next to it. We chose the Founders Grove to explore off the exit 663 of hwy 101. The Founders... More

It was so beautiful and the trees were massive, but most of the road was closed because there was a marathon of some sort! We were very disappointed and a bit bummed out but my advice is to check the dates you wanna go and make sure there is nothing going on when you want to take the drive through... More

That's how long we were there. On a motorcycle trip we decided to take the ride through. Not one disappointment at all. Will definitely be back to do it again.
