This is a nice drive through the redwood forest. The visitor center had some good displays and clean bathrooms.

Spectacular Giants is truly a understatement of these amazing trees. A picture can never tell the story of how it feels in person to stand among these 2000-3000 year old legends. To take a hike through them requires no talking... simply listening to the quiet...More

We traveled the Avenue of the Giants when driving through Northern California. The trees are amazing and directly next to and sometimes almost a part of the road itself. Plenty of places to pull off and walk up into the wood/trails. I Just have to...More

Get off 101 and onto the Avenue of the Giants and enjoy a slow ride through amazing stands of redwood trees. The drive works in either direction, and there are opportunities to get off and only experience part of it. We did the entire drive,...More

You have to see it to believe it and feel the immensity of the trees. Just go! Even without getting out of the car you can experience the trees and their vastness.

I know I went on this road when I was little, but now as an adult, I can fully appreciate the magic that is around you almost non-stop down this stretch of highway. We stopped often for hikes, pictures, picnicking, and a few silly tourist...More

This 'Scenic Detour' off Highway 101 is absolutlely not to be missed. Aptly named, this drive will take your breath away. There are plenty of places to pull over and stop. And stop you really should - to go right up to the trees, smell...More

Just off Highway 101, easy entrance and exit at several points. No fee. Just drive and stop at any place you can safely pull off the road! This is a California Treasure that will amaze you! Bring camera and jacket and sturdy walking shoes. We...More

Words cannot describe this scenic drive! Definitely worth the drive! Magical.... wonder what this area looked like before many trees were cut down.

Have done the entire drive from Scotia to Phillipsville on several occasions and because of limited time decided to drive just a portion of the Avenue. Drove the 18 miles between Redcrest and Myers Flat this trip and felt like we didn't miss out on...More

Didn't see any bike rentals anywhere along the route. Maybe just go a cheap one at Walmart and give it to a local kid when you're done with it.
