the loop is definitely worth the trip. it's completely different from mammoth. in reality, june lake is a small village based mostly on fishing and skiing in the winter....although june mountain is not comparable to mammoth but it is less crowded. there's really not much...More

Nice easy drive around June, Grant and Gull lakes. Small stores to stop and visit. Each lake has something to offer. We stay almost every year, this year too much smoke, but still nice.

This road winds you by June Lake, Gull Lake and Silver Lakes. All three are boating lakes but silver lake is a fishing paradise. Don't miss the little store and Cafe at silver lake. Great breakfast and lunch.
