Homer was my favorite town in Alaska. The boat tour into Kenai Fjords NP revealed a magical place of blue glaciers and sculpted islands. The Kenai River is massive and an amazing aqua color. It is so much more interesting than the Alaska from Anchorage...More

Great scenery - and a "MUST STOP" is the Alaskan Wildlife Conservation Center. Seward is a great destination for a day cruise (but hotels are $$$ and fill up completely).

Drive from Anchorage to Homer and Seward and you'll get rewarded with beautiful vistas. Around every corner is a gorgeous lake and photographic snapshots of the Chugach mountains. Incredible. I couldn't take enough pictures! Our days went from cloudy to clear and even on cloudy...More

Just driving the length of the highway is an awe-inspiring experience! It is wild nature at its most beautiful. We drove from Anchorage to Homer and back and constantly encountering incredible sights. Many opportunities to pull off and just soak it in, also.

the Kenai Peninsula is has the best hiking trails in Alaska. You will see some of the most beautiful scenery. My favorites are: Lower Russion River Trail Cresent Lake Trail Fuller Lake Trail Carter Lake Trail Skyline Trail (more difficult) Ressurection River Trail
