We went on a cruise around Prince William sound and it was a beautiful day and we say glaciers up close and orcas breaching and a cannery where the fisherman brought in their salmon. The landscape is so awesome also, It's eye candy for the brain .. We even had glacier margaritas ... Nice way to end the day.

You have to see it to believe it. It looks like on a post card, picture perfect. Even better than Kenai. Endless glaciers, rivers, lakes, the sea. It can't get better than this. You definitely have to make a trip to this area and see it. Valdez is a good base and then explore the area by cruise or kayak.

You can take small cruise to go out and see the glaciers. Always prepare jumpers, and also binoculars.

I was in Prince William Sound for 6 nights on the Island C as part of an Alaskan photography safari. It is an incredibly beautiful place. We visited Mink Island, Eshamy bay, Dangerous Passage, Icy Bay, Bettles Bay, Gaanaak Cove, Glacier Island; and saw many glaciers - Bettles, Tiger, Tiger Tail, Chenega - and so much wildlife - orca, sea... Loved the Blackstone Glacier Tour. Took the train from Anchorage to Whittier and did the 4 1/2 hour cruise. Breathtaking and worthwhile!

We visited the Prince William Sound to see the glaciers. We took a 5+ hour glacier tour from Whittier. This was a great option for us compared to a 7+ day cruise. We saw about 9 different glaciers, lots of otters in the sound, and a moose on the train ride from Anchorage to Whitter. The midnight sun is something... More
