We took a taxi from Trinidad to Santa Clara and visited the valley on the way, stopping to climb the tower and enjoy the beautiful views from the viewpoints. It was very interesting to see this different side of Trinidad.

Visit the viewpoints first, to appreciate the scale of the valley. We hired a car, and it's best to get there early as tour busses start to arrive from 11. There are zip-wire trips at the highest viewpoint, which amused our sons for half an...More

Lots to do in the Valle, there was the old estate, the tower and the Canopy ride. Loved the Canopy as it consisted of 4 actual cables with the final one landing you right near where you had started. Highly recommend it.

Very scenic. Can be done by train but we had a car and driver and guide so went with them. Beautiful viewpoint which has zip wires as well. Lovely to go and see the now closed sugar mills as well as the impressive plantation houses.

Pleasant day's tour with Cubatur, as the train was not working. Stop offs at the mirador (good view out to sea & across valley), very interesting haciendas & plantations etc. They organized a very pleasant local lunch at a family home.

Great views from atop the observatory. People there were awesome. We spent some time talking to the locals, consuming fresh coconut and horseback riding through the sorrounding areas. The ppl there were awesome, couldn't say enough about how humble and welcoming they were.

Driving around the valley makes history come close. So many slaves had a tough time here. Now not so many fields with sugar cane production, but interesting though.

We took the tourist train up the valley from Trinidad and realy wished we hadn't. The countryside is pretty enough without being anything special and, as an event, the trip on the train is completely underwhelming. The trip costs 15 CUC per person and, if...More

The train ride is interesting, nature is beautiful, but 2 stops for 1 hour on a hot sun are too much. Especially on the second stop, there is not much to do and the heat was terrible in the middle of the day. Nice, but...More
