Nice but also a tourist trap

It would be lovely to see this, when not surrounded by tablecloths and crocheted clothes! It is nice to climb the Iznaga tower, you'll have beautiful views from here. We came by train (from Trinidad) and that is a lovely way to see the valley.

Herds of Transtur buses from Varadero and Havana visit the Valle de los Ingenios (the Valley of the Sugar Mills) so better be there by 10 AM, then it is quiet. We came with our own rental car and our excellent guide Adonis from Trinidad Sightseeing. He took us to a Mirador with great views over the valley, then to... More

A nice colonial residence and site of an old sugar cane farm. Still maintains some of the old machinery and an imposing watch tower which is available to climb for those not afraid of heights. Also site of a railways station and local people sell handmade goods, worth a haggle if interested in any items.

Nice train path in the middle of the valley! It is quite touristy but definitely worth the sightseeing. The first stop is to climb of an ancient tower to have an amazing view on the valley, the second is useless as an old and barely standing ancient sugar factory but no choice the train is stopping for one hour, the... This has nice views from 360 degrees. It costs 1CUC and it is a bit of a climb up some stairs. There are several levels so you don't have to get to the top to enjoy the view.

We went on a trip with train to the valley. If i would have known it will be so boring, I wouldn't go. You only drive with the train to the tower, go up and down, and then go to another place, where people are infriendly, only want you to order as much as possible. It was very boring as... More

La Valle de los Ingenios is a must seek place. This explains the splendor of Trinidad and you may visit typical places such as Manaca Iznaga or the house of Guaimaro. A half day tour is sufficient but worth!

We went through the market selling table clothes, toys, clothes and arrived at the tower. You climb the stairs and you see a fantastic view of the country side. After that you visit the Hacienda which used to be a sugar cane owners home

I've been to Trinidad and stayed in the city several times over the years and there's only so much of it that you can see (it's not that big). Not taking away from it's beauty but walking on those cobblestone roads can be annoying after a couple of days, this makes for a great deviation. We went by taxi and... More

Great adventure! Very beautiful place to see. You can go there by bike or horse. If you have been in Viñales maybe it is better to go to the beach or cascades and coffee plantations
