This is a nice spot. Shouldn't cost more than $35 to rent a taxi from Trinidad, opt for a newer one as the roads are steep and windy. For someone in good shape the trip should take 35 mins to get there (all downhill) and 45 mins to get out (all uphill). You'll want an hour atleast to swim and... More

is an approximately 3 1/2 kilometers dawn hill but also same distance going up on the way back. The trip is extremely stiff on occasions. No need of sun block because you'll be walking all the time in the shade. Be ready to test your endurance.

This is a long long trail to see the Caburni Waterfall 2h in every way and the path is difficult with a lot of mountains, I recommend another waterfall.

The walk is nice, but a bit difficult, be careful! It takes about an hour and a half going downhill to get to the pools and an hour and a half going uphill (almost like continuous step climbing). The pools are beautiful, but we went there in low season and found there were way too many tourists. There are many... More

This is not an "easy" hike. You need to be in halfway decent shape to trek 1 hour to a waterfall! But when you get there the cold water is so refreshing. A must do in Trinidad. Hire a taxi. Usually 60 CuC for a day. The driver will show you different places along the way. The driver will also... More

The hike took 45 minutes down to the waterfall and nearly double the time to come up. Try to go early in the morning so you can make your way back up before it gets terribly hot.

When I visited my guide warned me before we left Trinidad that the entrance fee was 9 cuc ... by the time we got there it had gone up to 10 cuc ! Despite only being a 2km hike each way, it was still worth the entrance fee. Although I was very lucky, as I had the pool to myself... More

A steep but interesting walk down to the Caburni Falls past huge stalactite formations and through forest full of bird song (trogons abounded!) We had not expected the 9 CUC x person entrance fee, which adds up to a lot. But the trail seems to be well kept, little litter and the pool and falls at the bottom are well... More

The whole day trip to this region was great. The highlight was the swimming hole- deliciously cold at first but the only real was to feel refreshed after a walk in the humidity. Highly recommend - also an ideal way to see Cuba and it's people, environment, and coffee growing industry.
