Bad weather today(02/Jan/2017). If anyone travel start from Picton, as a experienced travel agent who based in Auckland, then I recommend you not to stay so long in this boring town. For their tiny museum visit, you will be charged for 5NZD per adult. To have a look a old ship, 12NZD you need to pay. Don't pick any of... More

We travelled around New Zealand for over three weeks in November and this was one of our favourite areas. The town is small and compact and there are free walks directly from the centre which provide stunning views of Picton Sound and the Queen Charlotte track. We were pleased that we stayed here for the night (rather than just driving... More

We visited the Picton area while on a cruise and so docked at the container pier, and had to get a shuttle into town. The town is small, but very pleasant with a lovely waterfront. There was a craft market when we were there. We walked through town and hiked the Track to Bob's Bay and back. This was a... More

We arrived very early for our ferry, so took the opportunity to walk all aroud the harbour for an hour or two, and explored the main street with its plethora of book shops and cafes. The marina is beautiful, and the many yachts and motor cruisers bobbed gracefully on the almost still pure blue waters. It was a pleasure to... More

Delightful small town with a gorgeous harbour and plenty to do. Stayed at Top 10 holiday park which caters for everyone - lovely cabins. Also did the Postal boat trip which was awesome.

If you don't have time to get on a boat and do the Queen charlotte track and the Marlborough Sound, that's a nice second option (or if you have enough time, do both!). It's free, accessible from Picton by foot and you get nice views of the water and the town. The walk is easy ans you can even se... More

This a great place for travellers and locals alike. The waterfront offers a walk around to the ferry terminal there are cafes close by and places for the kids to play.
