Picton is perfectly located to access the Marlborough Sounds which are only able to be reached by boat. There are many wonderful tracks to walk from Picton or further afield by boat.

Our family took our boat out to blumine island and did the hike to the ww2 gun emplacements. Great weather at easter and an easy walk. Saw some wonderful wildlife and seals on the way.

The Marlborough Sounds are gorgeous. Stunning scenery arriving in Picton, driving along the Queen Charlotte scenic road, and along many of the smaller side roads like Kenepuru Sounds road.

Expect weather to be mixed at Marlborough Sounds. We experienced both wet and sunny days. The scenery is spectacular, especially on a sunny day and even on a dull day has it's own beauty. We travelled by car and were able to see some beautiful...More

I travelled through here and other sounds in NZ, and they truly worth a look, waterfalls running down from high mountains and on to the seas, its looks like it belongs in a movie where a person showers in a waterfall, but these waterfalls are...More
