We were very lucky as there were only 4 holiday makers on our trip, and with the Captain Roy , that made 5 in total on the yacht. This meant we had an excellent sail, and were encouraged to steer at the helm. We saw lots of dolphins, who enjoyed swimming along side us. Roy was an amazing Captain, being... More

We have an awesome trip and a great time with Captain Ray! He's Super nice and knowledgeable. Along the cruise he told us interesting history and stories about akaroa, the boat and also the wildlife residing here. Very informative and entertaining! We spotted hector dolphin right near the boat surfing on the wave and cute lazy seal colony. You may... More

Sailing in the stunning Akaroa Harbour is a treat in itself but Ray takes it to a whole new level. Fun and knowledgeable, he has this "je ne sais quoi" that makes you want to spend more time with him. His incredibly captivating commentary and contagious passion for sailing are just overwhelming and makes the whole cruise and unforgettable experience!... More

Highlight of our NZ trip. Very friendly captain and a chance to spot all major marine wildlife: penguins, dolphins, seals. Taking over the rudder is fun, both for beginning and experienced sailors. Great value for money, highly recommended!

We were fortunate to see dolphins, penguins, seals and other birds of the area. He even let's you learn aspects of sailing.... More

Have you every been on a sailing boat next to dolphins and the most charming skipper tells you about akaroa, the habour, maori, french and the english and what they did in akaroa? No? Then quickly book the sailing cruiser. we went there at 10 o'clock and it was just beautiful, amazing and we had so much fun while learning... More

While we stayed in Christchurch for a pretty long stay, we decided to venture out to Akaroa Beach which is about 2 hours away (with stops for some views). On Beach Road we pulled over to an iSite where we decided last minute to book an inexpensive 2 hour sail cruise since there was not much else to do. Once... More

Captain Ray runs a great one-man sail boat in the harbor. What feels like a one-on-one talk he explains the history and wildlife of Akaroa. He is very patient about finding the dolphins, penguins and fur seals, among others, and is very respectful of the environment. If you wish he allows each passenger to steer the boat. It was a...
