Hi Hannateau,
We tried to talk to you about this review upon reading it, but unfortunately our requests for a chat to rectify this were unanswered, which of course is your right. However it is a pity that as another local hospitality business owner whose company has worked with us in the past, you could not come to us directly vs this channel.
We don't like to have unhappy guests and we are open to feedback. Your comments below on the cooking are really well noted and we have discussed them with our food team. We apologise you were not happy with the main course - it is such a shame we could not fix this on the day.
On your other points, you will know from your own venue that it is hard to respond when people are unhappy about something that isn't promised in the first place:
We offer 1 cocktail on arrival, and then a large selection of fine wines, craft beers and soft drinks. So while you were disappointed you couldn't keep drinking cocktails, free flowing cocktails were never offered. We are on a boat, so we are limited to stores we have aboard.
We depart at 1130 and offload guests at 1530, returning between 1500-1515 to allow guests time to wrap up their drinks and final course, and be off by 1530. We don't promise anywhere or at any time to return at 1730. Our crew just wouldn't do that either - they've all worked this tour for several years.
We do usually have some live back up crays in our holding tank on board. This is because we are actually fishing and so sometimes, we don't catch enough on the day. We promise a lobster lunch so having a live tank is important, otherwise we couldn't deliver on that promise. It's hard to see how that is a bad thing.
We purchase all our produce from local WA seafood suppliers, so it is verifiably not shoddy, because WA has some of the best, most sustainable seafood produce in the world.
Menu is subject to seasonal change, or if chef is not happy with the produce quality that arrives on the island. An alternative of similar standard is of course in place, which is what happened in this case.
Between your initial purchase of vouchers a good time ago, both the price of ferries and the tour went up. I cannot speak for the ferries, but we increased both food quantity and wine offering, and of course costs such as fuel and labour have inflated. Therefore as of the new season September 2022, the pricing was higher for both ferries and our tour, so there was a price difference, which we would have been happy to explain.
On a separate note, our crew did actually call through the course of this charter and speak to our reservations team, as regards your group's behaviour and attitude to the female deck hand and Captain, which they both separately were very unhappy with. The Captain was given support to offload your group however he opted not to, in the light of the fact you are another local business, and they did not wish to damage the relationship.
Again, we would have preferred to discuss this in person, but our requests for a contact number and a chat went unanswered so unfortunately we have had to reply on here.
