Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

While walking around Fremantle, the moment I laid eyes on this bar, I just simply had to experience having a glass of good wine and soaking up the atmosphere on their balcony! Amazing architecture and ambience, reminiscent of provincial France or Italy. Felt like it was out of a scene from Romeo & Juliet.... beautiful service, great taste in wines, lovely decor and relaxing! The food looked very appetising as well, though I did not eat there.

Where do you find this level of service combined with amazing wines (all at exactly the right temperature!), and a pretty good tapas selection too! Very hard to get in Fremantle, but we found all of the above and more at Cinnabar in Essex St. And when several of the more well known restaurants around Freo were advising "sorry, kitchen closed..."; we even got a great meal at Cinnabar. Our fourth visit was as enjoyable as oour first, keep it up guys - fantastic!

On a recent trip to Australia (November 2009) I spent one night in Fremantle and was lucky enough to come across the Cinnabar Wine Bar. The Bar has an amazing wine list and Tony and James couldn’t have been more welcoming. The rain was pouring down outside but we were quite happy sampling the delights of their extensive cellar.

Thankfully the sun came out the next day and we took a trip round Fremantle Prison which was fascinating – I recommend anyone visiting Fremantle takes the time to do this tour. The prison was last used in 1991 and it’s a far cry from the “hotels” our prisoners do time in nowadays. Check it out – the hanging room will give you the creeps.

Last stop was to see Cottesloe Beach before heading back to Perth – a beautiful beach most definitely worth the visit.

This small but friendly wine bar stocks a great selection of good wines. The Owner James and staff Tony are friendly and helpful with tips for places to eat and visit whilst in Fremantle.
