Our package on the Indian Pacific included a day trip to Rottnest on the 'Rotty' Express and while on the Island a narrated bus tour. At the dock early we were among the first on board so soon got chatting to those around us on the very comfortable bench seat out on the stern. On the run up the river to Freemantle and across to Rottnest island the narration made the river trip quite interesting and what we didn't learn from that a few of our fellow passengers (locals) filled in. So after a great 90 minute trip we arrived at Rottnest with about 45 minutes for a quick look around, spot a few Quokkas and head off to the bus. Great tour, lots of local info along the way. A TIP: The coast is on the left all way around the island SO get to the bus early and grab a seat on the LEFT side of the bus up back in the raised seat section - best place for photos. The bus makes a stop out at West End for those who want to visit Cape Vlamingh view point and/or Cathedral Rocks. For those of us on the wrong side of 60 you sort of have to choose one or the other. The younger more agile and those who get out , take a few pictures and head off can do both. For those like me who want to wander around and take lots of photos you sort of have to choose one or the other. So we missed out on Cathedral Rocks - maybe another time. Our bus trip ended around 1pm so still plenty of time to explore. I took a stroll out to the lighthouse which offered great views back along the coast. Lots to see, plenty of historic buildings and most places of interest have good info boards that explain the history, various uses of building and things of interest. Back on board and on the way back the sunset on our way up the Swan was fantastic. All in all a very good day and I would highly recommend this trip.

My children and I enjoyed our return ferry trip on the Rottnest Express ferry. We took our bikes for an extended weekend and it was a convenient service from Perth Elizabeth Quay. The commentary along the river was interesting. It was a 3 hour journey, which was a chillaxed start to our extended weekend. Good and clean facilities on board. Staff helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.

Took the 90 min island circumnavigation tour with Damien and Yvette. They provided a great experience which was not only lots of fun but informative with fur seals, ospreys, sea lions batchelor pad and dolphins. It was great to see the island from the water even at 25 knots at times. Safety was of the highest order while still having an adventure experience. Highly recommend. We will be back in spring for the whale watching season.

Tried to book on several occasions but impossible. They still publish a schedule out of Elizabeth quay (as it’s still an option on their website) but apparently they only operate from Fremantle. Prices are very expensive. Hope this feedback assist them in providing a better booking and customer experience. Thank you
