Tavira island is one of the best beaches in portugal. Walk 200-300 metres down the beach for peace and quiet.. a little bit of paradise.

Another great beach in the eastern Algarve. You can get a boat from the quayside in Tavira, or drive to Quatro Aguas, with plenty of parking, walk through the dunes, and the beach, bars, restaurants are all in front of you. Safe swimming, and pedalos...More

The 18-km long beach is hit by strong waves. Walkers can come to and come from the Isla by ferry or through Santa Luzia.

Wow! A beautiful island which was deserted in December. A haven of peace and quiet in the Winter months. Perfect!

A beautiful wide sandy beach with 2 restaurants and water sports available. The taxi boat leaves from town and takes 10 minutes and cost €3 - €4 return per person. Shady areas with trees and a small children’s play park.

Just returned from 2 full weeks in Portugal. Travelled around by car and also visited Tavira, close to border of Spain. Romanian bridge, great restaurants by the canall, life music everywhere. Totally suggest!

Very peaceful and relaxing. Free Loungers. highly recommended. Only downside.... long walk to the washrooms, and only one restaurant was open at that time.

Not much to do on the island except sunbathe. Lots of eateries closed as end of season. Ferry direct from Vila Gale Albacora Hotel for €3 pp each way several times per day

I also didn’t notice any seaweed on the beach at Tavira Island. Very clear and warm water when we visited in September.
