The shifting sands have accumulated in the centre & built up massive dunes. This is tough walking.. sand slides away under your feet. Wear solid shoes. But it is truly worth the hike. It feels like a desert & the views are incredible. On a...More

We cycled to Råbjerg Mile from Hulsig. It took less than 30 min and was very a very pleasant ride. The dunes are a great place to run around in and for the speculators views. Don’t miss it!

To be honest it is a place with lots of sand if you want to be objective. However, the feeling you get that this is something special is on the money. If it wasn't for the howling wind I would have completely forgotten that we...More

This walking dune is a must do when you are in Skagen. You can find these places in other countries also but still it is special. And remember, one day it will end in the sea and be gone... Maybe not in your time, but...More

I wish that we dedicated 2-3 hours for this place, just to sit and relax in this fine sand dune! It's an interesting phenomenon - a moving coastal dune which is preserved by the Danish government, the others have been subdued by vegetation. There is...More

Don't miss this picturesque place; you will find nothing like this in Denmark. Amazing sand dunes in desert-like surroundings.

Our group of 28 from cruise ship stopped here on our private tour. Our guide mentioned they call it Denmark's Sahara....but the 'sand' here is very course, not like the Sahara. It is a very neat spot to take in tough, you don't expect to...More

Raabjerg Mile is a huge area of sand moving form the west coast of Jutland and will disappear in the Kattegat on the east coast eventually. It moves about 15 meters/year. Visit Raabjerg Mile, and you don´t have to go to Sahara.

It only got a 4 out of 5 because our next stop was the Rubjerg Knude. Fortunately we went here first. Quite impressive monstrous dunes slowly marching across the peninsula . Beautiful sand. Hike not too bad, I flip flopped to the dunes and then...More

During the summer months there is a tourist bus route from skagen that stops there. Otherwise you can rent bikes and bike down. There are paths most of the way through grassland and by the sand covered church.
