The memorial was very modern and interesting. I think the best thing was that it educated me in recent Latvian history through a personal story of a family. The atmosphere was unique.

Having been to a few holocaust memorials and exhibitions in different countries, it was a pleasure to experience a memorial which thought so deeply about its message and its meaning. The dark spaces inside, with the illuminated bunker reconstruction, including symbollic paintings were clearly well...More

This is the story of an incredibly courageous man, very well-documented. Also the story of his equally courageous wife and his children, even his youngest son who was very young at the time.

It’s ok, but nothing worth writing home about. Definitely don’t put this on the must do list. The building is nice

We spent 1,5 hour in a very beautiful museum that hosted a very special history about a man and wife that rescued 50-60 jews under WW2.

40-60 mins of autobiography and interesting stories about planning escapes, risks, results. Museum is free and you get a sound guide at the entrance. It’s situated on Kapsula island, which opens perfect views on the old city. Also don’t forget to thank museum with donation.

This free little museum is a gem to be discovered. Zanis Lipke is a little unknown and this place gives great background info on him and his family and how he helped save 50 Jewish lives. It is a bit of a walk across the...More
