i visited in minus 10 degrees so in summer this may be better , i also note that they are doing up certain areas of the zoo soon - they need it , some of the cages are a little small by todays standards and need updating , at 6 euros to get in i am not sure where this... More

Lots of animals are put inside in winter so there is not much to see 'cause you cant get into every building. Worth the 2€ but car parking is 4€ what is a lot to ask.

Take the tram 11 and the stop is very last, quite long ride. The zoo is quite small but nice. Definitely would like to visit again the summer time. We liked a lot.

The zoo is well laid out and easily accessible by public transport. The animals appear to be well cared for. Via an elevated viewing platform the giraffe house allows one to be within meters of this animals. Observe them very close up.

Visited here for the winter nights at the zoo. It was only €2 entry per person which I though was take good. The zoo looked all nice in the snow and all the lights and bonfire in the middle of the zoo. There wasn't that much to see but it was something different as I've never been to a zoo... More

A bunch of us visited the Riga Zoo and we were a bit disappointed. The zoo wasn't that big and the animals seemed quite tired.. There wasn't really anything too special in the zoo either, so I wouldn't necessarily spend my holiday here, instead there are many better things to do in Riga.

im suprised uo read the review below...i have been hete 3 times over the last few years and it was great fun and very good price on each visit. the photo of small kangaroos (alledgedly starving) are actually baby kangaroos. it seems that because somebodys watch wasnt working very well and they forgot to get out of the zoo on... Where do I start... Although the zoo seems big, half of the spaces are empty & the animals we saw were so skinny it nearly made us cry (SEE photos)! The smell in the houses we went it (giraffes, flamingos) was awful, & the zoo should seriously take some time in cleaning these poor animals places! We were never told... More

Our family like this place a lot since very young childhood - just now visit this place with our children already. Means interesting in generations. There's something magic in Rīga zoo. Perhaps because of wonderful green Mežaparks district near to Ķīšezers lake. Fresh natural air, lots of walking roads, many animals (despite no more elephants there), simply nice! Can assure...
