This open air museum is a nice way to gain a glimpse of Latvian life over the last 200 years. Quite a lot of walking involved since the various villages and settlements are spread out. But the terrain is flat and the trails are all...More

We visited this site on a cold and rainy day which was a shame as I think on a nice day you could spend hours wandering around and looking in all the buildings. We saw the main farm and old church and a few other...More

This stop was part of a National Geographic Baltic Sea trip. Our guide was great and really brought to life the every day life of people hundreds of years ago. There was a nice variety of buildings, great photo ops.

Large open air park with lots of old buildings showing different parts of Latvian culture. We walked for 2 hours and barely saw half of the park some of the buildings had people demonstrating crafts or other skills which made it more fun.

This was an optional excursion for our tour and well worth the price. This is truly a beautiful property with an insight to the early days. We had a beautiful lunch prepared locally and were able to view a wedding in the old chapel.

I like that they are organizing different events there and you can get a real taste of Latvia. There are several tipical houses from earlier times, also there is a place outside where to eat.

We really liked this open air museum. There were so many interesting buildings , and having a number of small groups of them spread through this large space made for a wonderful day out. We highly recommend this museum!!

No not as such, but you could ask the Russian man who lives there if he could put it some where safe for you. it is so worth seeing. it is in an open field so if your packs are not to heavy take them with you.
