Riga's Central Market is renowned for its size, authenticity and range of local produce. If you are spending a break in the UNESCO Heritage zone of the adjacent Old City, you must find time to head east to just past the railway station to the...More

This is an absolutely huge market, both outdoor and indoor. Outdoors, there were stores selling fruit and veg but this was dominated by strawberries/cherries/watermelons. One area of the market was seafood, one was breads/cakes, one was meats, and one was pickled foods. Not sure what...More

We had a good wander around both the indoor and outside markets. Hundreds of stalls. Clean and tidy with exception of the toilets we used cost of 20cents. Nice little cafes and places to eat.

This place was way too big and is not easy to navigate. There's so many tents that sell the same thing over and over. BUT it's still definitely worth doing. Tons of flowers and produce.

Huge market place with four different buildings or sections for fresh fruit and vegetable, dairy products, meats, and fish/seafood. Quite crowded place with lots of tourist and local people, but definetely worth it! Try salmon-wrap in the fish snack counter in the seafood building! Most...More
