Very organized story of Latvia in the 20th century. And it is an interesting story. But mostly posters with pictures and very little in terms of artifacts. I could learned just as much by working through a book with pictures.

This exhibition is housed in temporary venue as the original is being renovated. There are many displays and photographs, plus some very good films featuring either personal recollections or archive footage.

Definitely worth visiting to learn about the atrocities of Soviet and Nazi regimes, including labor camps in many cases leading to extermination, forced splitting and resettlement of entire families etc. Educational tourism at its best.

Very nice museum! It has a lot of interesting materials, all in English. So if you are interesting in History and War you should definetly go to this museum to understand a little bit more of Latvia and Baltics history.

Gave a good glimpse of Riga’s history. The occupation of the Germans and Russians and the effect upon the community and families. The sending to Siberia and trains that housed exiles for months on end. Well worth a visit.
