This was a lovely place to visit in Riga! Cheap entry, cheap places to eat once there too! Tasty food! The Palace is beautiful and not very big so you can get around it in under two hours. The gardens are gorgeous and interesting. I really loved going to this place on our trip to Riga!

Certainly worth a visit. Something for those interested in the Arts, Architecture, Ceramics or Furniture. That said the Ceramics are tucked away in alcoves so viewing is at some distance. I would have appreciated closer viewing even if from behind glass. I did find the pricing structure to be confusing with options for a short or long tour route, with... More

Spent two hours being shown around by our guide who was very informed but totally lacked common presentation skills. This is the old and outdated National Trust approach at its very worst. Loads of rooms full of furniture, paintings and artefacts presented in the old don't touch and don't cross the line mode. Don't take the kids. The experience would... More

My wife and I were on a romantic weekend and stopped by this Palace. Walking the gardens is something I'll never forget. Inside there is so much history. There was a tour that we listened to at times, but we ventured on our own. Lots to do and see for couples, families or anyone. We also ate a small meal... More

We were 32 people, mostly pensioners, on an organised tour. Rundale is about 70 km south of Riga. The official coachcar park is quite a way away from the main building but Our driver dropped us off closer to the gates, though we had to og to the Coach park to meet the Coach again. But many took the little... More

I was quite impressed with this palace. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the people who had inhabited the building, the architecture, how each room was used, etc. It was stunning. They are still in the process of completeing renovations on the front grand staircase, adn when done, it will be their piece de resistance. The gardens are gorgeous. The... More

The garden,s th erooms, the tour, it's all worth it. Just take your time, take it all in, and enjoy the thought of living in days gone past, and the big flowing outfits, the dances, the gathering. It's like out of a movie,,,,I'd do it again.....with better shoes!

There is quite a bit of walking. It is dusty and rocky so be prepared. The rooms are exquisite. Yes, there is ongoing rennovation as is expected. It was a shame we didn't get to tour the stables. The gardens were absolutely lovely, fountains and all. It would be a challenge for one with disabilities. I don't know how you... More

My family and I enjoyed our visit to Rundale and learned a lot about Latvian and Russian history while there. The Place is a 50 mile (80 kilometer) drive from Rundale. There are 40 rooms in the palace, but during the time of our visit, it seemed as though two-thirds of the palace was not available for touring due to... More
