Artūrs (I hope I spelt that right) was a great tour guide. Highly recommend this tour as it introduces you to areas of the city you might not ordinarily go to. Artūrs was a wealth of knowledge on the city and Latvia as a whole. Recommend doing this on your first day so that you get your bearings.

I've been on the Free Tour twice and both times I had a great experience! These tours are led by guides who have great knowledge about the history, character, and stories of this city. I would recommend this tour over others because of its authenticity. Instead of telling you the fabricated stories that other guides tell tourists, you'll get a... More

We were guided by Caspers, a history academic who was very charming and knowledgeable. The tour gave a fascinating insight into not only the history of Riga but also its modern geopolitical landscape and Latvia's place on the world stage. We started in the Old Town but quickly went to explore the suburbs so that we could discover the 'real'... More

We were quite a large group (26) and I was totally impressed by both the organisation and communication through Arturs (we ended up booking private tour) and Caspers as our guide. We had 14 teenagers with us and he managed to keep their attention during the 2.5 hour walk ..very knowledgeable, very personable and he completely engaged with us !

Always enjoy these free walking tours as the guides give you such a great insight into their city. This was no exception. This tour did take you on a more back beaten path seeing parts of the city you wouldn't normally explore. A brief walk around the old town, but most of it was spent outside the old town. Don't... I took part in this free tour on December. Thanks to our guide Edvards Rutkis. It was a very interesting experience. He led us out of old town on a well-organized route, provided many interesting facts about history of Latvia and Riga. Also his English was perfect (which is not a usual thing for free tour guides). I can recommend... More

We had a tour today with Kasper that took around 3 hours. Even though they are trying something different going out of the old town I missed the historical part and tales about the old city (just fascinates me). But I must say Kasper is very knowledgeable! Knew the right time when to make jokes and was very professional! He... More

Kaspas took us out of the Old Town and through Riga's suburbs, expounding on the Soviet history of Riga, and Latvian culture. His bluntness about the Tourism Industry's construction of a more "sellable" history was refreshing and really interesting. Thanks Kaspas!
