Part museum part aircraft scrapyard. Some interesting soviet aircraft and other hardware. Once you've found the gate in the fence and rung the bell to be let in. It was worth seeing as its viewed when you land at the airport.

I visited the day of my departure from Riga, after seeing this interesting old-school boneyard while taxiing in on arrival. Taxi driver happy to drop me off before the terminal but we had problems finding the entrance, it’s very close to the airport terminal, turn...More

Nice aviation museum in Riga international airport territory. A lot of Soviet, Russian made aircraft and some western aircraft are displayed under open sky. The guide and museum owner gather this collection together personally, he is the pilot and aviation enthusiast. You can get to...More

Seeing Cold War hardware is a must if you like aviation. These types of places are a gem. What looks like a privately own collection. Short walk from arrivals. Pay a visit after you arrive and avoid the crush on the bus into town.

Definitely worth a visit ! If you got time to kill between 2 flights (you can reach it from the airport in less than 5 mn by walk) or just before flying out of Riga, plan an average of 1 hour visit.

We visited before we caught the plane home. It's was about 7 euro each to get in but well worth it. Some excellent examples of Communist era planes and helicopters on display.

We decided to visit the Riga Aviation Museum on arrival to Riga in May 2017 after seeing it advertised online. The museum itself is just to the right of the exit of the arrivals hall. You need to press the buzzer to be let into...More

To be frank I rated this as very good purely because I've been an aviation enthusiast all my life, and unless you visit Krakow or the Monino museum outside Moscow I doubt if there is a collection anywhere else as extensive. To the uninitiated from...More
