Located in an old wooden building in the heart of Tartu’s Old Town, the Toy Museum transports its adult visitors back to their most joyous childhood days and offers children plenty to see and do. The permanent exhibit displays toys that children in Estonia have played with throughout the ages. The display also includes artist-made dolls, souvenir dolls from around the globe and traditional Finno-Ugric toys. The museum has play and workshop rooms, and the exhibit rooms also offer plenty to keep one busy. Alternating exhibits and children’s activities are organized at the museum. In Theatre House there is a theatre stage, Children’s Studio, and theatre puppets museum. Theatre House is a unique theatre which gets its inspiration from the Toy Museum, childhood, games and memories.

This museum was interesting for child and also for the adult. Doll theatre exposition was with ability to play different types of theatre for visitors themself. Other exposition was very interesting. Recommend this place!

It's a really small place... However, in the era of hi tech it's so great to have a look at dolls and teddies from the past, what our grannies' toys looked like. How puppet cartoons were made. Sense of home, humor, never ending world -...More

This Museum is nice displaying mostly soft toys of former USSR, Estonia and Japan. For adults it may be of not much interest until unless you have special interest into toys, but for kids it is an excellent place.

Very-very nice museum with lots to see and pleasantly nostalgic items exhibited. Many rooms, plan for an hour visit. Price was 5€ per adult, but offers discounts for students and seniors. There's a large kids playroom there. Definitely worth a visit.

Good place to visit with kids. you will get the feeling that you are traveled back in time. We even managed to play Super Mario from black and white TV.

I've been here a couple of times with my family. Every member of the family finds something interesting here. I love the toys from my childhood. Kids love a play-and-workshop room.

We visit it each time when we are in Tartu. Its very interesting and its never boring there. There is kids playroom also in top floor. Nice family attraction and for parents it's rather nostalgic to see the toys we used to have 😊

This was not just a typical museum. It was fun and interactive, even for adults. It was great seeing global toys as well. I was really shocked as an American. I really loved this place!!
