We came here to see the church which inside has nothing special, and we tried to get up on the tower. The view from the tower is really nice especially on the old citt, and you can’t have a nicer view even from toompea hill...but...More

The church is free to go in but you need to pay €3 for climbing up the tower, which is 60m high. It was pretty tiring to climb up the 270+ steps in the spiral staircase but we were rewarded the brilliant view of Tallinn...More

This is the first church as you enter old town. The steeple is very tall, hard to get in a picture. Love the old wood doors for the entry.

My wife likes churches which is fine but she has an unhealthy obsession with churches with a tower that you can climb as I have learned to my cost. This one was quite cheap 3euro and the steps all 238 of them are narrow, uneven...More

The square tower dominates the waterfront and best view of old town Tallin. It stands near the fat Margaret defensive tower and the old water front gate to Tallin. It has 282 irregular spiral stone steps and a wooden ladder up to the observation deck....More

Well...I must say the climb up all the stone and wooden steps is worth it. The views are stunning. You get a 360 panoramic observation of the surrounding countryside and birds eye view of the city. The steps are quite uneven and the attraction is...More

I'm not sure why this page recommends 1-2 hours for the church... if you can eke out half an hour then you've done well. We didn't go up the tower and whilst the church is perfectly nice, it really isn't something to write home about....More

Oleviste is most famous, gorgeous and wonderful Church of Tallinn...Not so rich decorating, but this modest interior makes my heart and soul so happy!

I love the history that this 'may' have been the tallest building at one time. It's quite nice from outside but not massive (tallest building things was a long long time ago).... we skipped the paid walk to the tower (most people said not worth...More
