Church of the Holy Spirit

Interesting building. Neighboring the oldest cafe in Tallinn - Maiasmokk ("Sweet Tooth"), and in front of the Guild house.

During a self guided walk (map collected from info centre) of the old town we visited many sites/sights in old town. This building is worth a stop/visit, our favourite part of the building is actually on the outside. The clock that has been telling time since the 17th century. Definitely worth a photo.

Standing outside this church you would immediately realise it was the real deal, old world style and charm, obviously being kept up in this modern day. My favorite bit is that inset clock in the wall - just wonderful!

Not so much of a museum - there's an exhibition of some ancient stained-glass, but it consists of 4 items, - but a very beautiful church itself. And if you're lucky, you'll hear an organ rehearsal for the price of an entry fee (1.5 euro), which is almost as good as the concert itself.

it starts with a small fee to enter which is quite unusual I must say but if it stays in the church, ok. Its a true Lutheran Evangelical Church. This was the believes at Medieval times the power traders and local merchants followed. its purposely un-colourfully decorated, no gold except for the big altar triptychon, from 1483. similar churches are... Very peaceful church - lots of dark wood with some beautiful painting. There was a small exhibition of stained glass while we were there.

Get ready to climb some stairs and then be blown away by the views up on top. This is a beautiful church in the middle of Old Town. Just 3 Euro to go up.

Our guide took us to this little white church after visiting the Guild Hall nearby. In our guidebook it was called The Church of the Holy Ghost. It is one of the oldest churches in Tallinn and is famous for the clock outside. This is a worthwhile attraction if you are in the Guild Hall neighborhood.

The Church of the Holy Spirit is located right in the middle of Old Town, just across the street from the Great Guild Hall. It was built in the early 14th century and is thus one of the oldest churches in Tallinn (the Dome Church on Toompea Hill is still older). The altar dates from the 15th century. The church... More

Now it is being used as a museum of art. Interesting history about the church. It is not so easy to find.
