The Great Guild Hall is a combination of Estonia history and the story of the Great Guild itself. It is presented in quite a variety of ways. It has exhibits of artifacts, video displays, archeological features of the building, and rooms laid out as they...More

At 9 euros for a family ticket (2 adults plus as many kids as you like) this is good value. It contains the story of Estonia over the many occupations by foreigners and the brief spells of independence. Entitled the spirit of survival, you get...More

There are several excellent small museums in Tallinn Old Town and unless you are visiting for a week or more it is impossible to do them all justice. Entrance to most is very reasonable and are covered by the Tallinn Card and therefore you only...More

We stumbled over this "overview of everything" opportunity and found it as charmingly "all you need" as the country. Without offering in depth anything it provides every contextual background that a quick traveller through, child or adult could require, including a view of how the...More

Set in a charming old building, a 30 minute visit is all it takes to soak in the well organized exhibits and learn a bit about Tallinn's history -- especially the Baltic Germans.

Too much for the entrance cost, I entered mainly because of interest in interiors of such houses but I didn't find it was worth it. Good enough to admire the exterior.

Having visited this museum, I'm still not entirely sure what the focus of it was. There's a bit of everything - a short film about the history of Estonia, and another one about its nature and geology; downstairs there's a guild themed exhibition relating to...More
