This is a pretty little spot that has a nice view over the old city. On a windy day is is pretty well protected. A popular spot for tourists.

The Danish King's Garden is worth a quick stop for photos and a few history lessons. I didn't get the history lesson unfortunately because I was in a hurry, but only took a few pictures. The monk statues are fun to appreciate, and the overlook...More

The walk from the town square in rather steep but the destination is delightful. For a small charge you can access part of the town wall. The views across the lower town are spectacular.

So bizarre to see a pretty cool metal sculpture with the Danish flag along with statues of three monks in Estonia, of all places. I knew the story of how the Danish flag floated down from God here, but I wish that there had been...More

Little area with some nice gardens, a neat little restaurant that you have to climb these steep narrow old stairs to get to and also these somewhat creepy monk statues. Make sure you stop and check it out.

This little "garden" right below the hellemann tower has a beautiful view of the lower city. The statues of the monks are intriguing and disquieting too. Read the plaque as you go in about the locals hearing a man's voice as they pass through the...More

Beautiful and cozy place, a must-see for Danes. Here you can spot really old town walls. Three statues now finalize the composition.

I found myself there after getting lost on Toompea on my first evening in Tallin and was immediately thrilled by this place. The monk statues are both unsettling and fascinating and reminded me of Tolkien's Nazgul. Especially worth visiting after dark, when the statues are...More
