We found it to be an interesting exhibit to visit to see some of the things they used during the Soviet Era. Not all of the signs are in English so keep that I mind. I think it would be kind of boring for young kids. The old factory that the exhibit is housed in was quite interesting. You can... More

First of all, I went to this museum only because my partner wanted to see it. The concept of the museum is good, but there is a lot of room for development. As a local I've been surrounded by these items all my life and only recently they have started disappearing. There are some gems in the museum - the... More

Outside the museum was a Lada and some very welcoming posters, and having just visited the wonderful KGB museum at the Hotel Viru our expectations were high. We paid our 5 Euros each and went inside. It all started well, some visitors were trying on Soviet costume to have their photos taken, and round the first corner was a little... More

I came to this place rather by chance when I lost my way and wanted to ask the man standing in front of the building. It turned out that the man was the responsible person for the museum and made me interested to go in. The price for entry is completely okay with 5 Euros. He was also very helpful... More

Quite interesting to see old stuff, cars, motorcycles and objects from everyday life in the Soviet era. There are notes in English also, so you are not completely lost if you are not from Russia, Finland or Estonia. The museum does not have toilets so think about that before you go in. To go through the hole exhibit takes about... More

Life during the almost 50 years of Soviet occupation in Estonia was not easy or pretty or comfortable, but they made due with what they got and many were able to be happy. This exhibition really gives a good overview of what Estonians (and their brothers in other Soviet republics) had and how they lived. Nothing was imported during those... More

This exhibition is in one of the old warehouses in the Rotterman Quarter near the harbour. Outside on the street there is an old gas pump from the Forties or Fifties along with an old car. A lot of people have their picture taken pretending to pump gas. Also outside is a large vat on a wagon. Apparently during the... More
