Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a terrific assemblage of great foods! They also sell clothes but we were there on a mission to stock up on food to cook for our week in town. We scored multiple types of meats, cheeses, and fantastic fresh produce!

We traveled here to explore local market hall “Hales Turgus” Place was beautiful outside and familiar inside. Lots of small shops and places to eat or drink. There were also a new wing for clothes, but we didn’t go there. Enjoy a easy moment at Graikai a Greek fast food place.

We stayed at central Vilnius hotel and on our second day I took a walk and found this Amazing place. We spend some fun hours shopping clothes, bags and shoes. If you doesn't care if the stuff is "real" but like cheap shopping, this is the Place for you. No one speaks English, but that was not a big problem. The Salesman was careful with showing that we got the right change, and that all accessorys followed as they should. Do not miss the liquidstore next to the big stairs! The only bad thing is that the market Close around 15:00

Here is the recipe for a perfect morning in Vilnius.
Go to the Hale Turgus (Market) in the morning. Try to be there not too late, by 10am is fine. To the right from the main entrance, find a food outlet with fresh oysters. Take two-three oysters (per person) of different size and a glass of sparkling wine. Take a seat outside, by the food trading rows. Relax and slowly enjoy your oysters. Once you finish the oysters, ask yourself whether a poached egg with avocado or ham would be a nice complement. You may order the eggs at once or after a stroll around the market. If you are from Russia, buy as much local sausages and cheese as you can (recall that formally, one person is allowed to bring max of 5 kg of food products into Russia). You may wish to end up your perfect morning with fresh pastries in another outlet.
Good luck!

The fruit, the cheese, the flowers, the baked goods - lovely. It would certainly help to speak Lithuanian, but all there was helpful and did their best to help me muddle through. The clothing was of a low quality, but the food items were fresh, delicious and well priced.

Halles Market not only sells local and traditional food and goods but also has an interesting selection of little restaurants and bars that makes the market a must be place during your trip in Vilnius. There's a cheap bakery with local food and a lot of stalls where they sell cured meat like bacon and salame (to be honest everything is very cheap and tasty)! You can also find fruit, veggies and raw meat if you're staying long enough to cook some local products! We managed also to buy a very good pair of winter shoes😉

While not nearly as impressive as the central market in Riga, the one in Vilnius is worth a stop on your way to or from the old city. It's relatively small inside, with the meat/fish market in back in an adjoining facility and overflow on the street outside. There are several nice, small restaurants inside (including one featuring bagels, another soups), in case your visit coincides with mealtime.

Amazing local produce, meat and other goods. Not to mention some stalls selling clothing and other sundries. Was nice to look around and chat with the stall holders.
