Having heard the story's of this fine upstanding man I'm glad to see vilnius honoured him with this statue. If your unsure on his past look online luckily I had a guide to tell me.

Before the war there were 200,000 Jewish people in Vilnius. 94% of them were wiped out in the Holocaust. This little memorial to an exceptional member of this lost community is a poignant reminder of what was lost.

We stopped here and took a customary photo of us next to the statue. I was told that if you sat next to the statue it was supposed to vring you good luck. It hasn’t hurt so far.

It was a rainy day in Vilnius, but worth the trip to see the sights including this lovely statue, kind of makes you want to make up your own story about it's meaning, easy to find and worth finding.
