Just slightly off the beated trail. Being a Zappa fan I just had to see it while there. Statue is not that big, but it just blows my mind that it's there at all. My travel date for seeing this is not what appears because...More

If you are a fan of Frank Zappa you must go here. Its a statue of him in the middle of no where. But there are other things more interesting in Vilnius, in my opinion....

Although Frank Zappa never even visited Lithuania, group of local artists and his fans made this nice monument to honor him. Beautiful and somehow zen place, surrounded by residential buildings.

I was a fan of Zappa and the Mothers of Invention back in the 60's and 70's. I saw them at Filmore in New York twice. The monument bust is okay and out of the way but, it's there. If someone like Frank Zappa could...More

We took the walk (slightly uphill) to the statue only because we had time on our hands. Apparently it is there because he was a banned artist during Soviet times and thus a bit of a hero. Wish I'd known about the QR-code. Graffiti of...More

I hear people say the statue is boring, nothing special, just for fans, just for a photo. Well, you might ask yourself a few questions: Who's Frank Zappa? Why there is such a stature for him? Google it or Wiki it or simply download that...More

Had to stop here when we heard of it. It is really just a statue with Zappa's head on top and some cool street art in what looks like a parking lot. However, glad we stopped by to see this odd sight. Makes you wonder...More

Apparently people in Vilnius equated Zappa with a freedom movement, so they put his head on a platter :) I guess if you're a fan, you will go. My husband is, so we went. It did nothing for me, but it is not too out...More

well, it is just a statue and not a big one, but if you are a Frank Zappa fan, then it is probably an interesting place. He was a great supporter of the independents of the Baltic states.
