While there this week I saw a huge collection of history of fashion as well as an interesting art exhibit.

Having visited specifically to see the exhibition of ballgowns I was amazed not only at the brilliant collection but also at the quality of the display and the variety of accessories which accompanied the gowns. It was a delight to be able to wander at leisure throughout the exhibition - a far cry from the London crowds to which I... More

A trip to the applied art museum in Vilnius might conjure up for you images of a tour round a prententious gallery weighed down by post-Soviet brutalism. Nothing could be further from the truth. A magical, imaginative and exquisitive display of ball gowns, high couture and domestic attire from the 18th to the 20th centuries was one of the most... More

Seemed more like and overspill of the national museum (new arsenal); with an extra display. For €1 (as a student) it wasn't bad though.

Over all, there isn't much to see in this museum. The only reason I went was to see the ballgown exhibit - which wasn't just ballgowns but clothing through the centuries with accessories. I found it really interesting and entertaining. The other floor had some artifacts from churches, paintings that had been restored and they had information on who they... More

This museum is worth 1-2 hours and is of interest to people who like clothes, handicrafts, glassware and ceramics, fashion etc. It has two displays, a permanent one and a temporary one. The permanent collection shows good examples of glass, weaving and other textiles, silverware and other examples of Lithuanian applied arts, with some examples from other countries (Lithuania used... This is a strange museum, with a number of unconnected displays. There was a large exhibition of 1970s fashion on the ground floor, quite amusing. Upstairs some large religious paintings from a local church, a small display of sinister puppets, and a few random artworks. Probably worth a look.

If you are interested in fashion history then this place is for you. I liked most Rebellion in a Boudoir exhibition.

This museum is my favourite in Vilnius! I visit it almost every time when I'm in the city! Alexandr Vasiljev fashion history collections are always well put together!

Interesting museum right in the city centre! Exhibitions change quite often and even if modern art is not my favourite one still I advise to you all this place!
