Good view of the City

The place has a good view of the city and is the best place to visit in the city as the city has not too much else to offer.

We, a family of 6, had a great Day on Castle Hill and into Gediminas Tower, Oct.2015. We could follow the rising of several Hot air Balloons on our hike up to the top, overlook different sights from here and explore the grand ruines from a present time. The inner yard of the Castle is in a really good condition... More

Perfect spot for Panoramic shot and leave some time for a small museum. If you have not heard of the iron wolf, then I suggest you read the legend before you climb the mountain!

This is the first thing I did on my trip to Vilnius as I was told it afforded the best view of the Old Twon. It certainly did not diasppoint in that regard! There is a small museum in the tower but as you go up through the floors, It opens out onto a flat roof top which reveals a... More

This is a really cute tower and one of the iconic views on the Vilnius skyline. It was temporarily closed to the public while we were there we as they're doing repair work to the "mountain" it sits on to stop it crumbling. You can walk round the base though and it does appear in the background of most of... More

360% view from top of mound , very heavy climb , loose underfoot , old or infirm , don't try it ... photograph city from top are worth the effort if you are ablebodied ; cells , cannons and old ruined walls to see upon reaching the area on top of mound

We had read about the great views from the top of the tower but when we visited earlier in February we were disappointed to find all the gates locked at the entrances at the bottom as it was closed for restoration to the footpaths. You are able to walk all the way around at the bottom on the pavement but... More

The best way to see the whole city and get a feeling on how it is make and situated. All the stories will be alive when you will see the way (road) from the Done gates to the market square (Town hall square) and counting to the Cathedra. hope to the sunny and warm weather, so you can see more... This is a must-see while in Vilnius. The history is amazing, the whole look of the castle and the people who lived there. It over looks the city, the best view of Vilnius from up high. There is a lot of climbing stairs inside and out. I hate heights but didn't want to miss a thing, it was well worth... More

Perfect example of the IQ of nomenclature : some brainiac thought of brilliant idea to strip the hill of the trees that were holding the ground in place. No the castle is closed for safety. Honestly just looking at it, I would even come close to it, mud slide is just matter of time to happen
