Only good for visuals, as the on board restaurant is well known as the most pretentious eatery in the city. They insist upon upscale prices, dresscode and menu yet the staff routinely disappoints with unprofessional and pretentious behavior. Avoid it, and enjoy the beauty of the boat as it sits in the harbor at night, lit to the top sails with gleaming lights. A symbol of the Old Town and Klaipeda in general, it's a lovely photograph spot.

The Meridanas Boat/Restaurant appears on just about everything connected with Klaipeda. It is perhaps one of the most symbolic icons for tourists.
It is presently moored in Klaipeda’s Canal opposite a beautiful park adjacent to the Old Town.
Great place to visit during the day as a tourist attraction perhaps with your children, over a cool beer or during the evening, enjoying cocktails and an evening meal.
To all Trip Advisors visiting Klaipeda, you have at least got to view this splendid vessel from the Lifting Bridge.

We had view of this from our apartment. Watched men climb rigging on windy day. Interesting history and information boards in several languages.

Walking around Klaipeda you won't miss it because it is quite big and is permanently parked at River Dane inside the town. It is one of the symbols of Klaipeda - was built in 1948 in Finland as a contribution to the Soviet Union after WWII.

Can't say that you was in Klaipeda if you don't stop here at least for a cup of coffee. You will not regret it for sure! Great service, delicious food, symbolical place.

The ship is beautiful, and has a great location in Klaipeda. There is a restaurant on the ship that I wish I had the time to visit as well, however heard it is a bit overpriced.

As a guest of some local dignitaries I expected ship based restaurant Meridianas would deliver and it did. Atmospheric setting. Funny how I noticed the ship moved more after a few glasses of the recommended wines. Food was a mix of local and international favourites. Trio of fish was great as a starter washed down with the Pinot Grigio. My steak was ok but no more. The lamb my fiends had was the smarter choice but I don’t like the anis / chicory as a flavouring. Red wine I forget but it was good. Our server was very attentive, respectful but more importantly advisory. His wine pairing suggestions were spot on. Top man.
It was a late lunch / early dinner so we had the ship to ourselves. - was that planned ? We dined like celebrities or rich oligarchs. Anyhow full marks would have been awarded other than the food quality beef. Note to self beef in Eastern Europe often not great. If in Klaipeda with 100 € in your pocket go to Meridianas.

The sailship Meridianas has a story to tell. Hundred years ago she and her equal concqueered the oceans. Here she has been a part of the old story - telling how Klaipeda acheived to be one of the Hanseatic cities for centuries. It was interesting to read about the reconstruction of the old sailship. This is a very good way to take care of old clenodies - and to find a use that is good for the good story.
